Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Databricks Sales Engineer to join our client, a growing Data & AI consultancy focused on delivering modern data, analytics and AI solutions.

As a Databricks Sales Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of sales, technology and consulting , working closely with prospective customers, Databricks and internal delivery teams to design solutions, demonstrate technical capabilities and help win new business.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who combines strong Databricks technical expertise with the ability to communicate, present and sell complex Data & AI solutions to both technical and executive audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Presales & Solution Engineering

• Partner closely with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle, from initial discovery through technical validation and close.
• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer challenges, existing data environments and business objectives.
• Design Databricks-based solutions that address customers' Data Engineering, Analytics, AI/ML and GenAI requirements.
• Deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support RFPs, RFIs, proposals, Statements of Work and technical solution documentation.

Databricks Expertise

• Act as a technical subject-matter expert across the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Advise customers on areas including Data Engineering, Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL, MLflow, Mosaic AI and Generative AI.
• Help customers understand how Databricks can modernize their existing data platforms and accelerate Data & AI initiatives.
• Architect high-level solutions across cloud environments including AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
• Stay current with new Databricks capabilities, product releases and developments across the wider Data & AI ecosystem.

Customer & Partner Engagement

• Build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders, Data Leaders, CIOs, CTOs and other senior decision-makers.
• Work closely with Databricks Account Executives and partner teams to identify, develop and progress joint opportunities.
• Participate in customer workshops, technical deep dives and architecture sessions.
• Help position the consultancy as a trusted Databricks partner capable of taking customers from strategy and architecture through to implementation.
• Provide technical credibility throughout complex enterprise sales cycles.

Sales Enablement

• Support Account Executives with technical qualification and opportunity strategy.
• Develop reusable demos, solution accelerators, presentations and technical sales collateral.
• Identify expansion opportunities within existing customers across Data Engineering, Analytics, Governance and AI.
• Provide feedback from customers and the market to help shape new service offerings and go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect or Presales Architect position.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and modern Data & AI architectures.
• Experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles within Data, Analytics, Cloud or AI.
• Strong knowledge of technologies such as **Apache
